COVID-19 Update April 19, 2021

Thank you for your continued patience and support as we respond to the rapidly changing landscape of COVID-19.  The NeuroCare Campus is currently experiencing an influx of active COVID-19 cases among our staff which is reflective of the recent surge in cases across the state.  Although we currently have no active COVID-19 cases for clients, the COVID-19 Watch Team has suspended all visitation at the NeuroCare Campus for 14 days for the health and safety of our clients, staff, and visitors.

NeuroCare Campus -  NCC North, NCC South, Heavlin

  • We collectively have 12 NeuroCare Campus team members that are either COVID-19 positive or symptomatic with test results pending.  Contact tracing has been initiated to identify, monitor, and support individuals who may have been exposed to the virus and these team members are all on 14 day quarantines.
  • Visitation is suspended for all clients at the NeuroCare Campus for 14 days and all clients will receive a PCR test as well as routine testing throughout the quarantine per MDHHS guidelines.
  • We continue to track our client and staff pending and confirmed cases here.

Testing Update

  • To protect the health and safety of our clients and staff during the current surge in cases, we will administer a rapid test to outpatient clients in the NCC Lobby 15 minutes prior to their scheduled therapy session.  A new rapid test is required every 72 hours so testing frequency will depend on each client's weekly therapy schedule.
  • Wayne County's positivity rate continues to rise and is now at 15.6%.  Mandatory bi-weekly testing for NCC staff will continue on Tuesdays and Fridays until the positivity rate falls below 10%.

Drive-Thru Vaccine Clinic
We're excited for a big turnout at our drive-thru clinics tomorrow in Romulus and Troy for our clients, staff, and their immediate family members!  The vaccine remains the most important tool we have to fight the virus. If you're not yet vaccinated, please consider getting your vaccine to keep you and your family safe.

As we've said many times, the health and safety of our clients and team members is our top priority and we remain vigilant in continuing our strategies to prevent and slow the spread of the virus at Special Tree.  We'll continue to keep you updated as we have news and encourage you to reach out to your Case Manager with your questions and concerns.
