COVID-19 Update | December 4, 2020

This week, we've had no new positive cases of COVID-19 for staff and clients in our system!  As a reminder, you can follow pending and active cases on our website.

NeuroCare Campus COVID-19 Testing Update

Due to the high rate of positive COVID-19 tests in Wayne County, we are increasing the testing frequency at the NeuroCare Campus in Romulus to twice per week for all NCC staff and clients. Beginning next week, mandatory bi-weekly testing will change to Tuesdays and Fridays from 12pm to 5pm.

When Will Special Tree Have a Vaccine?
The COVID-19 Watch team is closely monitoring the COVID-19 vaccine. On Tuesday, a CDC panel recommended that health care and long-term care workers get inoculated first. We anticipate hearing from state and federal agencies next week regarding the vaccine delivery schedule and will keep everyone posted on next steps. The team has a plan in place for when we have the vaccine available to individuals who want to be vaccinated.

Here are the latest updates:

  • Post-exposure safety protocols remain in place at our Tyler II Residence in Belleville until December 6th which includes an in-home quarantine, full PPE usage, and suspension of all activities and therapy services.
  • A Pediatric client at our Saginaw Outpatient Clinic is on a 14-day quarantine as a precaution following a post-exposure from their nurse who tested positive.
  • Visitor restrictions are in place until further notice.
  • We are aggressively managing our supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are following best practices for disinfecting and cleaning our facilities. We continue to appropriately secure supplies in anticipation of routine needs such as the current flu season.
