Special Tree offers Outpatient Rehabilitation services for people with brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple trauma, and other neurorehabilitation needs. Our focus on outcomes at our specialty rehabilitation center are focused on providing the best opportunities for healing and recovery.

CARF-accredited since 1993, our program has a long-standing history as a center of excellence with highly trained staff to meet your rehabilitation needs including an extensive array of outpatient therapy services. Our rehabilitation staff follows a team approach collaborating with:

Our highly-skilled therapists use the most current, evidenced- based assessments and treatment to maximize independence at home, work, school, and in the community. At Special Tree our multi-disciplinary team works with each individual to customize rehabilitation based on every clients’ needs and goals for a holistic, person centered approach to recovery after hospitalization, surgery and chronic illness. 

Special Tree’s therapy clinic is a spacious facility custom built for rehabilitation located within Special Tree’s NeuroCare Center in Romulus, Michigan.

The NeuroCare Center offers short-term rehabilitation with private rooms, long term rehabilitation, and outpatient therapy. The center offers state-of-the-art, highly specialized equipment including:

  • Zero G body weight support system,
  • Neuro Electric Stimulation Biking for upper and lower extremity strengthening,
  • Multiple other exercise machines,
  • and aquatic therapy.

The Neuro Care Center also features an ADL/therapy kitchen and a greenhouse to simulate everyday tasks during your rehabilitation.

Specialty areas of rehabilitation include musculoskeletal dysfunctions of the body as well as neurological dysfunction of brain injury, stroke rehab, spinal cord injury as well as Parkinson’s disease, Post Covid-19 Syndrome, and general debility from prolonged hospitalization and immobility.

Our highly trained clinicians provide one-on-one care for the treatment of all neurological and musculoskeletal dysfunctions to correct muscle and joint imbalance, retrain the body and brain

and improve functional independence. Our interdisciplinary team works with each client to achieve maximum recovery. Our team fosters the Science of Caring providing hope encouragement and expertise.
