Special Tree Celebrates 10th Consecutive Top Workplace Award

For the 10th year in a row, Special Tree has earned a Top Workplace Award from the Detroit Free Press! Special Tree was thrilled to rank #13 in the Large-Size company category, placing it in the top third of the list.  The recognition is based solely on employee feedback through a survey that covers topics like work and life balance, salary, benefits, leadership, and corporate culture.

“This award belongs to all of our employees at Special Tree,” said CEO Joe Richert.  “While it’s gratifying to have earned this recognition for ten years, we’re most thankful for our fabulous team.  The outstanding rehabilitation and care they provide to our clients throughout their recovery is what makes Special Tree a great place to work.”

Did You Hear? Special Tree Earns Another Three-Year CARF Accreditation

Special Tree has earned another accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), the highest level accreditation given to rehabilitation facilities.

CARF is an independent, non-profit accrediting organization, which works to ensure that high standards of care and quality are met by its accredited rehabilitation providers.  Special Tree voluntarily pursues CARF accreditation for its programs and services every three years.  To earn this internationally recognized accreditation, a team of CARF surveyors visited Special Tree to evaluate our programs, services, staff, policies, and procedures to make sure they met CARF standards.

Special Tree Wins Healthcare Achievement Award

Special Tree is the recipient of the 2016 Intalere Healthcare Achievement Award which recognizes healthcare providers for their efforts to enhance quality and operations, improve patient satisfaction, and increase community awareness and education.  According to Animesh Anand, Chief Administratife Officer, Special Tree won in the financial and operational improvements category.  “By making adjustments to our supplier/distributor/vendor relationships, we were able to reduce costs and maintain Special Tree’s high quality patient care.”

Go Team! Special Tree Earns Fifth Top Workplace Award

For the fifth straight year, Special Tree has earned a spot on the Top Workplaces list compiled by the Detroit Free Press.  We’re delighted with our #20 ranking in the large-sized business category, our first year in this category, which also included well-known companies such as Quicken Loans, Plante Moran, Kelly Services, Dominos Pizza, and more. The list recognizes 100 employers in the region whose workers completed an independent survey about their level of satisfaction in the workplace, including pay and benefits, advancement opportunities, flexibility of schedules and other advantages.

“It’s truly an honor that our staff thought us deserving of this recognition,” said Kate McClain, Special Tree’s Director of Workforce Engagement.  “It reinforces our efforts to create an environment where people give their very best and feel their work is important and valuable."

Here’s what some of our staff had to say on the survey about working at Special Tree:

Dear Friends...

From CEO, Joe Richert, Spring 2012 Special Edition

I hope you’re enjoying spring as much as I enjoyed our mild winter! It made for excellent construction conditions as our crew renovated and retro-fitted a significant portion of our old NeuroCare Center into a 15 bed program, which we will hopefully open in mid-July. The general contractor on the job is a long time friend of mine, Mike Zaborowski. I worked for Mike over 30 years ago as a carpenter, my first job just after our wedding! I saw him on a Saturday recently in the area that he and I added onto in 1982 and I told him that at least in our lifetimes, this will be the last time we’re going to be reworking that area.
