I want everyone in the class to get moving to the best of their ability! I have some clients who like a traditional group-based exercise program while others need a program that’s tailored to their individual needs. We work out at the NCC Therapy Clinic, which has the look and feel of a high-end gym. I started out as a trainer at Lifetime Fitness and found I liked working with people who needed corrective exercise programs. From there I I started to see more and more clients with car accident related injuries which got me interested in working at U of M’s Spine Clinic where I set up exercise programs for discharged patients. My philosophy on getting in shape is that there are no shortcuts. If you want to be healthy, you’ve got to put in the time. I want clients to grab a social piece from the class by getting to know other which hopefully helps expands their social circle. Everyone knows each other at Special Tree so I already feel very at home. I stay in shape by being an amateur bodybuilder and a cross-fitter. My goal for clients is to help empower them with a tool they can use to help themselves feel better.
