Jessica Jean Hurlston, Psy.D.

Psychologist and Corporate Counselor

Dr. Hurlston works as a Psychologist and Corporate Counselor at Special Tree Rehabilitation System’s NeuroCare Center. She received her Master’s and Doctorate degrees from the University of Indianapolis, and completed a doctoral internship at Appalachian State University where she specialized in eating disorders, multicultural counseling, and supervision/training.

As a Psychologist at Special Tree, Dr. Hurlston utilizes an integrated therapeutic approach to treat individuals with brain and/or spinal cord injuries through individual and group modalities. She enjoys working with a diverse clientele experiencing a wide range of psychological difficulties, including depression, suicidality, anxiety, adjustment, relationship issues, identity concerns, etc. Her therapeutic style is client-centered in that she views each client as an individual with a unique personal culture. Further, she strives to provide clients with genuineness, warmth, and strong emotional support as she works collaboratively with them through their journey of recovery.

As Corporate Counselor, Dr. Hurlston advises on and coordinates organizational aspects of the business, such as the Richert Family Business Council and next-generation leadership for corporate sustainability. She is passionate about working at Special Tree because she believes in the company’s mission, values, and vision.
